Easy Head Lice Prevention and Treatment For Children

Posted on Fri, May 11, 2012 under

As a parent, when you receive that letter from your child’s school claiming that there have been reported cases of head lice among the students you fear that your kid can and will catch them as well. But there are things you can do to be proactive. You need to first teach your children more about personal hygiene; discourage the sharing of sweaters, scarves, hats, combs, and other articles within reach of hair. The lice like to live in clothing as a temporary shelter before they reach the safety of your head.

Also, check your child’s hair regularly and shampoo it often. They might not like it when you comb through the hair and check it, but just tell them its for a good reason and that they don’t want little bugs in their hair. Always be sure you check behind the ears and by the neck because those are the two favorite hiding spots for lice to lay their eggs. Also throw away any combs or brushes you used before preforming the lice treatment.

Natural lice treatment products are great if you do happen to find anything. And if not, use Lice Buster’s prevention spray to keep it that way during the school or camp outbreak. Lice and nits hate the smell of the spray and stay away.
